What are Crowns?
A dental crown is a cover or ‘cap’ for a tooth that needs extra protection. This could be for a tooth that is worn down, cracked, weakened, or damaged. They may also be placed over a root canal treated tooth to provide extra coverage since the tooth is more delicate.
They can be made from many different materials, including porcelain, ceramic, or metal. Some of these materials may be used together, for example, porcelain that is merged with metal.
